II. Functions of the Committee
The Committee will advise the Department of Commerce and its attached & Subordinate Offices/Public Sector
Undertaking/Corporations/Autonomous bodies/Institutions/Boards under the administrative Control of the
Department on the matters relating to Progressive use of Hindi for Official purpose and allied issues.
III. Tenure of the Committee
The terms of office of the member of this Committee will be three years from the date of its Constitution, Provided
that;
a) A Member of Parliament nominated to the Committee shall cease to be a member of this Committee as soon
as he/she ceases to be a Member of Parliament.
b) The Ex-Officio Member of the Committee shall continue so long as they hold office by virtue of which they
have gained the Membership of the Committee.
c) The Member appointed against a vacancy caused due to the resignation, death etc., of any member shall be for
the remaining period of Committee.
IV. T.A. and other allowances
Non-Official member of the Committee will be paid Travelling Allowances and Daily Allowance in accordance with provisions contained in O.M. No. 11/20034/4/86-OL (A-2) dated 22 January, 1987 of Department of Official50 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA, FEBRUARY 24, 2018 (PHALGUNA 5, 1939) [PART I—SEC. 1 Language and at the rates prescribed by the Government of India from time to time and as admissible under rules for attending meeting of the Committee.
V. General
Headquarters of the Committee will be at New Delhi. However it may hold its meeting at any other station also.
