DBR. No.Ret.BC.35/12.01.001/2018-19—Whereas, the Central Government has, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings ) Act, 1970 (5 of 1970 ) and section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1980 (40 of 1980), accorded its sanction,vide notification G.S.R 2(E) dated January 2, 2019 published in the Gazette of India on January 2, 2019, to the amalgamation of Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank with Bank of Baroda with effect from April 01, 2019;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub section (6) of section 42 of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 ( 2 of 1934), the Reserve Bank of India hereby directs the exclusion of Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank from the Second Schedule to the said Act with effect from April 01, 2019 as those banks would cease to carry on banking business with effect from that date.

For the words "The Orissa State Co-operative Bank Ltd."
The words "The Odisha State Co-operative Bank Ltd." shall be substituted.
