सं. 103-प्रेस/2024.—राष्ट्रपति, स्वतंत्रता दिवस, 2024 के अवसर पर निम्नलिखित अफसर को विशिष्ट सेवा के लिए राष्ट्रपति का तटरक्षक पदक सहर्ष प्रदान करती हैं:—
(i) महानिरीक्षक डोनी माइकल, तटरक्षक पदक (0258-एल)
2. विशिष्ट सेवा के लिए राष्ट्रपति का तटरक्षक पदक प्रदान करने संबंधी नियम 4(iv) के तहत राष्ट्रपति का तटरक्षक पदक (विशिष्ट सेवा) प्रदान किया जाता है जो कि राष्ट्रपति सचिवालय अधिसूचना सं. 50-प्रेस/89 दिनांक 7 जून 1989 में अधिसूचित है ।

सं. 104-प्रेस/2024.—राष्ट्रपति, स्वतंत्रता दिवस, 2024 के अवसर पर, उप समादेशक आकिल पठान (1544-जे) को वीरता के लिए तटरक्षक पदक सहर्ष प्रदान करती हैं।
उप समादेशक आकिल पठान (1544-जे) ने दिनांक 24 दिसंबर, 2016 को भारतीय तटरक्षक में सेवा आरंभ की।
2. रणनीतिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण स्थान (मंडपम) में तैनाती के दौरान, अफसर ने असाधारण वीरता और धैर्य का परिचय दिया, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप 108 करोड़ रुपये मूल्य की हशीश भारी मात्रा में जब्त की गई और तीन संदिग्धों को गिरफ्तार किया गया, जिससे दूर देहात के भारतीय क्षेत्र में मादक पदाथों की तस्करी को विफल कर दिया गया।
3. दिनांक 05 मार्च 2024 को कठिन परिस्थितियों में किया गया यह ऑपरेशन बहुत ही चुनौतीपूर्ण था, जिसके लिए अत्यधिक जोश और सावधानी की आवश्यकता थी । अफसर ने संदिग्ध नौका की सफलतापूर्वक पहचान की, और एक योजनाबद्ध तरीके से तलाशी अभियान शुरू किया और चालक दल को पूरी तरह से आश्चर्यचकित करते हुए नौका को रोक लिया । साहस का प्रदर्शन करते हुए, संदिग्ध नौका पर अफसर चढ़ गए और तीन चालक दल के साथ संघर्ष करके , नौका में छिपाई गई पाँच बोरियों में 108 करोड़ रुपये की हशीश की खेप का पता लगाया और उसे सफलतापूर्वक जब्त किया ।
4. अफसर द्वारा अंधेरे में तेज गति से चल रही नौका में अपनी जान को जोखिम में डालकर कू दना तथा अके ले ही तीन संदिग्धों से निपटना और प्रतिबंधित सामग्री को जब्त करना वीरतापूर्ण कार्य है तथा यह निर्भीकता एवं साहस के उच्चतम मानदंडों का उदाहरण है।
5. उप समादेशक आकिल पठान (1544-जे) ने स्वयं को बखूबी सिद्ध किया है और फलस्वरुप इन्हें तटरक्षक पदक (वीरता) प्रदान किया जाता है।
6. तटरक्षक पदक प्रदान करने संबंधी नियम 11(i) के तहत तटरक्षक पदक (वीरता) प्रदान किया जाता है तथा परिणामस्वरूप नियम 13 के अधीन तटरक्षक पदक (वीरता) प्राप्त करने वाले तटरक्षक कार्र्मकों को विशेष भत्ता स्वीकार्य है जो कि राष्ट्रपति सचिवालय अधिसूचना सं. 50-प्रेस/89 दिनांक 7 जून 1989 में अधिसूचित है ।

No. 103-Pres/2024.— The President is pleased to award the President's Tatrakshak Medal for Distinguished Service to the under mentioned officer on the occasion of the Independence Day, 2024:-
(i) Inspector General Donny Michael, Tatrakshak Medal (0258-L)
2. The President's Tatrakshak Medal for Distinguished Service award is made under Rule-4(iv) of the rules governing grant of the President's Tatrakshak Medal for Distinguished Service, i.e, President's Secretariat Notification No. 50-Pres/89 dated 7th June, 1989.

No. 104-Pres/2024.—The President is pleased to award the Tatrakshak Medal for Gallantry to Deputy Commandant Aaqil Pathan (1544-J) on the occasion of the Independence Day, 2024.
CITATION
Deputy Commandant Aaqil Pathan (1544-J) joined the Indian Coast Guard on 24 December 2016.
2. The officer, whilst deployed in a strategically important location (Mandapam) displayed exceptional valour and fortitude which led to humongous seizure of Hashish worth 108 Crore and apprehension of three suspects, thereby thwarting the ingress of the narcotics into the Indian hinterland.
3. The operation, conducted on 05 March 2024, was undertaken in very challenging and arduous circumstance which required zeal and focus of a very high magnitude. The officer successfully identified the suspicious boat, thereafter devised an ingenious combing operation and deftly intercepted the boat taking it by complete surprise. In a bold move, the officer jumped onto the suspicious boat and after a brief scuffle with the three crew, managed to locate the hidden consignment of Hashish worth 108 Crore concealed in five gunny bags in the boat.
4. The officer's heroic actions, particularly risking his life by jumping into a speeding boat in dark hours and single-handedly neutralizing three suspects and seizing the contraband, exemplify the highest standards of dauntless courage.
5. Deputy Commandant Aaqil Pathan (1544-J) has accredited himself well and therefore he is awarded the Tatrakshak Medal (Gallantry).
6. The Tatrakshak Medal (Gallantry) award is made under Rule 11(i) of the rules governing grant of Tatrakshak Medal and consequently carry with them the special allowance admissible under Rule 13 in respect of Coast Guard personnel who have received the Tatrakshak Medal (Gallantry) award, i.e, President's Secretariat Notification No. 50-Pres/89 dated 7th June, 1989.
