नई दिल्ली, दिनांक 22 सितंबर 2026
सं. 9-48/2004- यू.3(ए)—जबकि, के न्र सरकार को विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (यूजीसी) अधिनियम, 1956 की धारा 3 के तहत विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग की सलाह पर उच्चतर शिक्षा संस्थान को सम-विश्वविद्यालय संस्था के रूप में घोषित करने का अधिकार प्राप्त है।
2. और जबकि, यूजीसी अधिनियम, 1956 की धारा 3 के तहत प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, इस मंत्रालय ने यूजीसी की सलाह पर दिनांक 24.05.2005 की जिसमें (i) जवाहरलाल नेहरू मेडिकल कॉलेज, वर्धा और (ii) शरद पवार डेंटल कॉलेज, वर्धा शामिल हैं, अधिसूचना संख्या 9-48/2004-यू.3 (ए) माध्यम से, दत्ता मेघे इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज, नागपुर, महाराष्ट्र को कु छ शतों के साथ एक सम विश्वविद्यालय घोषित किया है।
3. और जबकि, मंत्रालय ने दिनांक 27.09.2022 की अधिसूचना संख्या 9-48/2004-यू3(ए) के माध्यम से "दत्ता मेघे इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज" का नाम बदलकर "दत्ता मेघे इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुके शन एंड रिसर्च" कर दिया।
4. और आगे जबकि रजिस्ट्रार, दत्ता मेघे इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुके शन एंड रिसर्च ने दिनांक 03.10.2025 के पत्र के माध्यम से सम विश्वविद्यालय संस्थान का नाम 'दत्ता मेघे इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुके शन एंड रिसर्च' से बदलकर 'अदानी इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुके शन एंड रिसर्च' करने का प्रस्ताव प्रस्तुत किया।
5. और जबकि, यूजीसी की सलाह को ध्यान में रखते हुए, इस मंत्रालय ने दिनांक 05.05.2026 के पत्र के माध्यम से कु छ शतों को पूरा करने के अध्यधीन 'दत्ता मेघे इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुके शन एंड रिसर्च' का नाम बदलकर 'अदानी इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुके शन एंड रिसर्च' करने के लिए सैद्ांतिक मंजूरी दी। इसके अलावा, संस्थान ने दिनांक 16.07.2026 के पत्र के माध्यम से उन शतों की र्पूर्त के संबंध में अनुपालन रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत की। यूजीसी ने अनुपालन रिपोर्ट की जांच की और इस मंत्रालय को अपनी सलाह प्रस्तुत की।
6. अब इसलिए, शिक्षा मंत्रालय ,यूजीसी की सलाह पर, यूजीसी अधिनियम, 1956 की धारा 3 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए, इस अधिसूचना की तारीख से सम विश्वविद्यालय संस्थान का नाम, 'दत्ता मेघे इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुके शन एंड रिसर्च' से 'अदानी इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुके शन एंड रिसर्च' में विश्वविद्यालय के रूप में नाम परिर्वर्तत करने के लिए इस शर्त के साथ अपनी स्वीकृ ति देता है कि संस्थान यूजीसी (सम विश्वविद्यालय संस्थान) विनियम, 2023 के अनुसार संघ ज्ञापन (एमओए) की एक पंजीकृ त प्रति मंत्रालय और यूजीसी को प्रस्तुत करेगा।
7. अदानी इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हायर एजुके शन एंड रिसर्च, वर्धा, महाराष्ट्र अपने नाम के साथ उपसर्ग या प्रत्यय में 'विश्वविद्यालय' शब्द का प्रयोग नहीं करेगा। यह सभी उद्देश्यों के लिए "यूजीसी अधिनियम, 1956 की धारा 3 के तहत सम-विश्वविद्यालय संस्थान के रूप में घोषित" अंत:
स्थापित कर (कोष्ठक के भीतर) अपने नामकरण के तहत नाम का स्पष्ट रूप से उल्लेख करेगा।
8. यह अनुमति इस मंत्रालय की पूर्व अधिसूचनाओं की शतों को पूरा करने और के न्र सरकार, विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग और अन्य सांविधिक परिषदों द्वारा समय-समय पर जारी किए गए संगत मानदंडों/नियमों/विनियमों/निदेशों के अनुपालन के अध्यधीन है।

No. 9-48/2004-U.3(A)—Whereas, Central Government is empowered under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956 to declare, on the advice of the UGC, an Institution of higher learning as an Institution deemed to be University.
2. And whereas, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, this Ministry, vide Notification No. 9-48/2004-U.3(A) dated 24.05.2005, on the advice of UGC, has declared Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur, Maharashtra comprising (i) Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Wardha and (ii) Sharad Pawar Dental College, Wardha, as an Institution deemed to be University with certain conditions.
3. And whereas, Ministry vide Notification No. 9-48/2004-U3(A) dated 27.09.2022 rechristened the name of "Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences" to "Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research."
4. And further whereas, the Registrar, Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research, vide letter dated 03.10.2025, submitted proposal for change of name of the Institution deemed to be University from 'Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research' to 'Adani Institute of Higher Education and Research.'
5. And whereas, considering the advice of UGC, this Ministry, vide letter dated 05.05.2026, conveyed in-principle approval for change of name of 'Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research' to 'Adani Institute of Higher Education and Research' subject to fulfilment of certain conditions. Further, the Institution, vide letter dated 16.07.2026, submitted compliance report in respect of the fulfilment of those conditions. The UGC examined the compliance report and submitted its advice to this Ministry.
6. Now therefore, on the advice of UGC, the Ministry of Education, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, hereby conveys its approval for change of name of the Institution deemed to be University from 'Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research' to 'Adani Institute of Higher Education and Research' with effect from the date of this Notification with the condition that the Institution shall submit a registered copy of Memorandum of Association (MoA) in accordance with UGC (Institutions Deemed to be Universities) Regulations, 2023 to the Ministry & the UGC.
7. Adani Institute of Higher Education and Research, Wardha, Maharashtra shall not use the word 'University' either in prefix or suffix to its name. It shall distinctly mention the nomenclature under its nomenclature by inserting (within brackets) "Declared as Institution deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956" for all the purposes.
8. This permission is further subject to the fulfilment of the conditions of earlier Notifications of this Ministry and also in compliance to the relevant norms/rules/regulations/directions issued by the Central Government, UGC and other Statutory Councils, from time to time.
