The 28th November, 2019
No. SW2/RPWD-Act/2019/8537.—In compliance with the provisions of Section 14(1) & 14(3) of Chapter II under The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh is pleased to appoint :—
1. District Magistrate, U.T., Chandigarh as Designated Authority within the Territorial Jurisdiction of UT Chandigarh for providing support of a limited guardian to take legally binding decision on behalf of a Person with Disability for the purposes of Section 14(1) of the RPWD Act.
2. Secretary Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration as Appellate Authority within the Territorial Jurisdiction of UT Chandigarh under Section 14(3) of the Act.

No. SW2/RPWD-Act/2019/8540.—In compliance with the provisions of Section 15 of The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh is pleased to designate the Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh as Competent Authority to mobilize the community and create social awareness to support persons with disabilities in exercise of their legal capacity. It shall take measures for setting up suitable support arrangements to exercise legal capacity by persons with disabilities living in institutions and those with high support needs and any other measures as may be required in U.T., Chandigarh.
