No. 9/5/11-IH(I)/2019/3186.—In continuation to Home Department, Chandigarh Administration notification No.9/5/11-IH(I)/2019/17303, dated 14.11.2019 and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub- Section (2) of Section 4 of the Census Act, 1948, (37 of 1948), the Administrator of Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to appoint the Officers noted in Column (2) of the Table below as Census Officers/Charge Officers/ Assistant Charge Officers with the designation shown against each in Column (3) thereof, to take, or aid in, or supervise the taking of, the Census of India 2021 within their respective jurisdiction mentioned against each in Column (4) of the table given below :—

In exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (4) of section 4 of the said Act, the Administrator is further pleased to delegate to the Officers noted at Column (2) of the above Table the power of appointing census officers within their respective jurisdictions.
3. As per the provisions of Section 11 of the Census Act 1948, any Census officer or any person lawfully required to give assistance towards the taking of census and who refuses to perform any duty allotted to him/her under this Act or any rule made thereunder, or any person who hinders or obstructs another person in performing any such duty, shall be punishable with fine upto one thousand rupees and in case of a conviction shall also be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to three years.

No. 1/48-FII(5)-2020/3029.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section (5) of Section 1 of the Employee's State Insurance Act, 1948, read with Government of India, Ministry of Labour and Employment letter No. S-38014/3/2010-SS.I, dated 25th January, 2011 and all other powers in this behalf, the Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh in pursuance of the approval of the Government of India, Ministry of Labour and Employment, conveyed, vide No.S-38025/23/2003-SS.I, dated 9th November, 2009 and directions of the Employees State Insurance Corporation hereby extend the provision of said Act of 1948 to the classes of Establishment Specified in the Scheduled annexed hereto:
