The 21st May, 2020
No. F-II(8)/2020/6633.—The Administrator of Union Territory of Chandigarh in exercise of the powers conferred under section 90(2)(b) & 90(3) of the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976 as extended to Union Territory, Chandigarh by the Punjab Municipal Corporation Law (extension to Chandigarh) Act, 1994 (Act No 45 of 1994), is pleased to approve that the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh shall levy the COVID Cess @ 5% on Minimum Retail Sale Price, on all categories of liquor sold through wholesale licensees, for taking necessary emergent measures, for preventing and checking the spread of COVID-19/dangerous diseases, to fulfil the obligatory function prescribed under section 44 (h) of the Act ibid.
The above said COVID Cess shall be collected and remitted to the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh by the Excise and Taxation Department, UT, Chandigarh in the dedicated account of special fund namely COVID Cess Fund of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. It is added that the above mentioned Covid Cess should be collected, kept apart in a separate account and not spent till clarification from MHA is received.
These orders will come into force with immediate effect and remains effective upto 31st December, 2020 or till further orders, whichever is earlier.

No. MH-III-2020/9050.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 2 of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897(Central Act No. III of 1897) and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to declare that the regulations for the prevention of Spread of Cholera published vide Punjab Notification No. 12359-GHII-HB/56/77021(A), dated October 1956 as amended by the Chandigarh Administration, Finance Department Notification No. 2878-UTF(IV)-67/25187, dated 11th August,1967 shall remain in force in the Union Territory of Chandigarh Administration for one year w.e.f. 23.6.2020.
