Notification

The 4th September, 2020

No. 2/7/420-H-III(7)-2020/11765.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 28 read with Section 211 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 as amended from time to time and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to make the following rules, to further amend the Chandigarh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1990 as amended from time to time, namely :—

1. (i) These rules may be called Chandigarh Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2020.

(ii) These shall come into force from the date of notification.

2. In the Chandigarh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1990, after the existing Rule 4, rule 4 (A) shall be inserted namely :—

"4 (A). Fee for Road Safety Manual—Applicant who apply/appear for learner/renewal license henceforth shall have to purchase the Road Safety Manual as per price fixed by the Administration from time to time. The proceeds from sale of Manual will be credited to the Account of Chandigarh Road Safety Society by the Registering and Licensing Authority, U.T., Chandigarh".
