Notification
The 19th February, 2021
No. 9/5/11-IH(I)/2021/1923.—In continuation to Chandigarh Administration, Home Department's notification No.9/5/11-IH(I)/2019/17317_22, dated 14.11.2019 & No. 9/5/11-IH(I)/2020/9346_52, dated 08.09.2020 and in exercise of the powers conferred under rule 8 (iv) of the Census Rules, 1990 framed under Census Act, 1948 and in view of prevailing conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and postponement of Census work till further orders, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to notify that the date of freezing of administrative boundaries of all the Districts, Tehsils, Villages, Towns etc. is hereby extended from 31st December, 2020 to 31st March, 2021. This shall be effective from 1st April, 2021 and no changes, whatsoever, is effected after 31.03.2021 till Census is over since finalization of administrative units is a pre-requisite for successful conduct of Census to facilitate Chandigarh Administration to undertake Census Operations 2021.
