The 8th October, 2021
No. 6/1/MCCE/SEC/CHD/18/2021/240.—WHEREAS the present term of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh, is going to expire on 31.12.2021.
AND WHEREAS general election to the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh has to be held to elect Councillors to constitute a New House before expiry of the present term of the Corporation.
AND WHEREAS the State Election Commissioner, Union Territory, Chandigarh, is satisfied that instead of preparing a fresh electoral roll for the aforesaid general election, it would be sufficient to adopt the electoral roll of the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency for the time being in force, as it relates to all the Wards of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh, and the said electoral roll of the Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency had already been revised with reference to "1st January, 2021" as the 'qualifying date' and preparation of separate electoral roll for the above said general election by this Commission would entail longer time besides incurring lot of expenditure in this respect which could be avoided.
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred upon the State Election Commission under the proviso to Rule 2E of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh (Preparation of Electoral Rolls) Rules, 1995, I, S.K. Srivastava, State Election Commissioner, Union Territory of Chandigarh, hereby direct that the electoral roll of Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency, for the time being in force and as it relates to all the wards of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh, are hereby adopted for use in the ensuing general election and shall be the electoral roll for the purposes of the above said general election.

No. 6/1/MCCE/SEC/CHD/18/2021/244.—In pursuance of the powers conferred under Rule 2-B of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh (Preparation of Electoral Rolls) Rules, 1995, I, S.K. Srivastava, State Election Commissioner, Union Territory, Chandigarh, hereby appoint, in consultation with the Chandigarh Administration, the Officers shown in column No. 2 of the table below, as the Electoral Registration Officers, for the Wards shown against each.
The Officers so appointed as Electoral Registration Officers are also appointed as Returning Officer-cum-Scrutinizing Officer under the Provisions of Rule 4 and 18 of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh (Election of Councillors) Rules, 1995 in connection with the forthcoming general election to Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh, to be held in the near future, for the wards shown against each :—
