The 24th February, 2023.
No. 153499-HIII(3)-2023/2833.—In pursuance of letter No. V-17013/31/2021-PR, dated 05.04.2022, issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, the Adviser to the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to constitute the U.T. Level Committee for the purpose of proper monitoring of the implementation of the Modernization of Prisons Project, consisting of the following :—

| 1. | Inspector General of Prisons, Union Territory, Chandigarh (Chairperson) | a) Disbursement of funds to District Prisons and other unit / agencies. b) Overseeing utilization of the funds and provide utilization reports to MHA as this is one of the mandatory requirements for gaining access to funds by MHA. c) Sanction for various project components Overall direction, monitoring and guidance of the project d) Manage implementation across all prisons e) Ensure proper training arrangements for staff for use of security equipments. f) Ensure deployment of appropriate handholding personnel. g) Regularly communicate with the Steering Committee at Centre on progress, challenges, requirements etc. for the project. |
