No. 60 Rule Cell/II.D.17.—Hon'ble the Chief Justice has been pleased to insert Rule 3(iv)

and 6-A in the Appointment and Allocation of Peons on elevation of Judges Rules, 2013 in the

following manner :—

"3 (iv) 'Judge' means a person appointed as Chief Justice or elevated as a Judge of this High Court."

"6-A. A Judge of this High Court, on appointment as a Judge of Supreme Court of India/Chief Justice or Judge of other High court shall be entitled to avail the services of one peon at the expenses of this Court for assistance of his/her spouse, parent(s) or dependent(s). The Judge may opt for regular/contractual peon already working under him/her or any other person on contract basis for such engagement, to be deputed/appointed by the Chief Justice. The term of engagement of such peon, shall be co-terminus with the superannuation of the Judge.

The above facility shall be provided to the Judge, if he/she is not availing the same from the Supreme Court or any other High Court.

Note : The services of regular peon on the establishment of this Court can be availed only in Chandigarh and Districts of Mohali/Panchkula."
