No. 882351-HIII(2)-2023/8824.—In pursuance of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (IS-II Division) Order bearing No.I-12023/02/2017-NCB-II(Vol-I) dated 25.03.2022, "District Level NCORD Committee" is hereby constituted under the Chairmanship of District Magistrate, Union Territory, Chandigarh with following members :—

Terms of Reference of the District Committee :—

i. Exchange of intelligence/ information about trends of drug trafficking.

ii. Monitoring of illicit cultivation of poppy or cannabis crop in the district.

iii. Monitoring the progress of investigation in cases having cross-state implications.

iv. Promoting anti-drug abuse awareness, especially in schools and colleges.

v. Conducting awareness programmes in the regions affected by illicit cultivation on provisions of the NDPS Act and harmful effects of drugs.

vii. Assessing the requirement of equipment of drug detection and submitting proposals for requisitioning of the same.

viii. Supervision of drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centres in the District.

ix. Any other issues, as deemed fit.

Frequency :— This Committee shall meet every month.

Co-opted member :-—With the permission of the Chair, the District NCORD Committee may co-opt representatives of Departments/Organizations concerned as members based on the requirement as "Special Invitees".
