No. F/274.54327-HIII(1)-2024/9579.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (r) and (u) of sub-section (1) of Section 2 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Act 46 of 2023) read with Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Notification bearing No. S.O. 2506(E) dated 28.06.2024 and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Administrator, Union Territory of Chandigarh hereby declare the "Crime Branch" of Chandigarh Police presently situated at Sector-11, Chandigarh or at any other place/places where in case, the said office, shall be shifted in future, to be the "Crime Police Station" for whole of the Union Territory of Chandigarh and directs that its officers of the rank of Inspector and above shall be the "Officer in charge of the Police Station" and shall be empowered for registration and investigation of all cases registered by Crime Police Station, Chandigarh under the provisions of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
