CHANDIGARH ADMINISTRATION HOUSE ALLOTMENT COMMITTEE

Notification

The 14th July, 2026

No. A5/2026/165.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 45 of the Fundamental Rules as notified by Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension (Department of Personnel and Training) Government of India and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, hereby makes the following Rules further to amend the "Government Residences (Chandigarh Administration General Pool) Allotment Rules, 1996 (as amended from time to time).

1. (i) These Rules shall be called the "Government Residences (Chandigarh Administration General Pool) Allotment (Amendment) Rules, 2026"

(ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Chandigarh Administration Gazette.

2. In the Government Residences (Chandigarh Administration General Pool) Allotment Rules, 1996 (as amended from time to time) (hereinafter referred to as the 'Rules'), the sub-rule (ix) of Rule- 9 of the 'Rules' shall be substituted as under:-

"After issuance of the allotment order of the Government house, the applicant shall contact the Junior Engineer, (Occupation/ Vacation) of the area concerned for taking over the paper possession (technical possession) of the allotted house within fourteen / twenty one days (as the case may be) from the date of issue of the allotment order.

3. In the said 'Rules', sub-rule (1) of Rule-12 shall be substituted as under:-

"Where a Government employee fails to accept the allotment of a residence or fails to take paper possession (technical possession) of that residence, within fourteen days of the date of issue of the letter of allotment, he shall not be eligible for another allotment for a period of one year from the date of issue of the allotment letter."

4. In the said 'Rules', sub-rule (1) & sub-rule (2) of Rule-14 shall be substituted as under:-

sub-rule (1)

"(i) After acceptance of the allotted accommodation by the Engineering wing, the allottee shall take physical possession of the accommodation from the concerned maintenance agency, within five working days from the date of receipt of the acceptance letter and the maintenance office/booth shall hand over the allotted accommodation to the allottee.

(ii) In case the allotted accommodation is not ready for immediate occupation, maintenance agency shall issue a Technical Occupation Report to the allottee.

(iii) The maintenance agency shall issue a Physical Occupation Report to the allottee once the accommodation is ready for occupation and after handing over the accommodation to the allottee in habitable condition.

(iv) Where an allotment of accommodation or alternative accommodation has been accepted by way of paper possession (technical possession) within 14 days, the liability for licence fee shall commence from the date of physical occupation."

sub-rule (2)

"Where a Government employee, who after accepting the allotment, fails to take technical possession of that accommodation within fourteen / twenty one days (as the case may be) from the issue of the allotment order, he shall be charged licence fee for a period of one month or till the date on which the new allottee takes possession of the said accommodation, whichever is earlier."

5. In the said 'Rules', sub-rule (5) of Rule-17 shall be substituted as under:-

A Government employee, who after accepting a change of residence fails to take paper possession (technical possession) of the same, shall be charged licence fee for such residence in accordance with the provisions of rule 13 in addition to the normal licence fee for the residence already in his possession, the allotment of which shall continue to subsist.

No. 27/60/2026/RO(I-2)/554.—In pursuance of the Government of India, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, National Statistics Office, (Social Statistics Division) letter No. M-12012 /04 /2024-SSD-III dated 16.01.2025, the Finance Secretary, Union Territory of Chandigarh is pleased to constitute an Inter-Departmental Group with the Directorate of Economics & Statistics (DES) as the nodal agency for compilation of the Environment Accounts in accordance with the internationally agreed statistical framework, namely the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA). The Group shall facilitate inter-departmental coordination for the collection, validation, and integration of environmental and economic data required for compilation of Environment Accounts.
