No. 676780-HII(3)-2026/6896.—In exercise of the powers conferred under proviso to sub-section (l) of the Section 20 and the second proviso to sub-section (l) of Section 34 of the Rights to Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, having regard to the nature and type of works carried out in the Police Department and the functional requirements of duties attached to certain categories of posts, hereby exempts all categories of posts under the Executive Cadre and Communication (Wireless) Cadre; namely Constable, Head Constable, Assistant Sub Inspector, Sub Inspector, Inspector, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commandant (Indian Reserve Battalion) of Chandigarh Police, from the provisions of above mentioned Sections.
2. This notification is issued with the concurrence of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities in the Union Territory, Chandigarh vide letter No. PwDS-UT-Chd./2026/822, dated 09.06.2026.
