No. 576IEXIT IECIILET IFUNC/JUD/SDR/20 ! S/Vol-l I.- Whereas, the schedule for the General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh. Rajasthan, Mizoram & Telangana has been announced by the Commission vide Press Note No .ECllPNl6'712018 dated 6th October, 2018.

2" Whereas, as per the schedule so announced by the Commission, poll for the election in Chhattisgarh is scheduled to be taken on 12-1 1-2018 (Monday) &20-11-2018 (Tuesday), poll for the election in the States of Madhya Pradesh & Mizoram is to be taken on 28-11-2018 (Wednesday), poll for the election in the States of Rajasthan & Telangana to be taken on 07 -12-2019 (Friday) and;

3. Whereas, as per the provisions of Section l264 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, there shall be restrictions on conduct of any exit poll and publication and dissemination of result of such exit poll during such period, as may be notified by the Election Commission in this regard;

4. Now, therefore, in exercise ofthe powers under sub-section (1) ofSection 1264 ofthe Representation ofthe People Act, 1951, the Election Commission, having regard to the provisions of sub-section (2) ofthe said Section, hereby notifies the period between 7.00 A. M. on 12- 1 I -20 I 8 and 5.30 PM on 7 -12-2018 as the period during which conducting any exit poll and publishing or publicizing by means ofthe print or electronic media or dissemination in any other manner, whatsoeveq the result of any exit poll in connection with the current General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mizoram & Telangana, announced by the Commission vide Press Note dated 06th Oct",2018, shall be prohibited.

5. ItisfurtherclarifiedthatunderSection 126(1)(b)oftheR.P.Act,l95l,displayinganyelectionmatterincluding results of any opinion poll or any other poll survey, in any electronic media, would be prohibited during the period of 48 hours ending with the hour fixed for conclusion of poll in each of the phases in connection with the aforesaid General elections.'
