NOTIFICATION

No. F-07-l/2019/Census/Home-2.- In pursuance of rule 8 (D(a) of Cencus Rules, 1990, the State Governr,nent hereby reupublishes the Notification No. S.O. 1455(E) dated 26th March,2019 of the Central Government for general information as follows :-

MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR GENERAL, INDIA)

New Delhi, the 26th March 2019

NOTIFICATION

S.O. 1455(E).-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Cencus Act, 1948 (37 of 1948), the Central Government hereby declares that a census ofthe population oflndia shall be taken during the year 2021 . The reference date for the census shall, except for the state of Jammu and Kashmir and snow bound non- synchronous areas of states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhhand, be 00.00 hous of the first day of March, 2021;

Provided that for the State of Jammu and Kashmir and snow bound non-synchronous areas of states of Himachal Pradesh and Utarakhand, the reference date shall be 00.00 hours of the first day of October,2020.
