An Act further to amend the Chhattisgarh Nagariya Kshetro ke Bhoomihin Vyakti

Be it enacted by the Chhattisgarh Legislature in the Seventieth Year of the
Republic oflndia, as follows :-
commencement.
l. (l) This Act may be called the Chhattisgarh Nagariya Kshetro Ke Bhoomihin Short titte, extent $akti (PattadhritiAdhikmon Ka Pradan Kiya Jana) (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyan\ end 21lg.
@ It extends to the whole State of Chhattisgarh.
(3) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the OffrcialGazette.
2. InChhattisgarhNagariya Kshetro Ke BhoomihinVyakti (Pattadhriti Adhikaron Ka Amendment to rhe Pradan Kiya Jana) Adhiniyam, 1984 (No.15 of 1984), (hereinafter referredtoasthe preamble in the PrincipalAct), in prdamble, after the words "leasehold rights on landless persons", Principal Act' the words and punctuations "and in certain cases, conversion ofthe leasehold rights to freehold rights" shall be inserted.
3. (l) In Section 2 of the Principal Act, after clause (a), the following shall be added, Amendment of
Section 2.
namely:-
"(aa) {{^{{FOOTNOTE *}}}}Bhumi
Swami Rights" shall have the same meaning as defined under Chhattisgarh Land Revenue Code,1959(No.20of 1959) and as amended fromtime to time;"
New 4. In the PrincipalAct, after Section 3-D, the following shall be added, namely :-

'3-E. ConversionofleaseholdRightsto Bhumiswami Rights in Certain Cases.- Notwithstanding anyhing contained contrary in this Act, on receiving the application by the authorized officer from the person in possession of the land, for this pu{pose, the leasehold rights may be converted in Bhumiswami rights in favour of the applicant on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the Government."
