No.576l3lEylW2A22iSDR-Vol.li:- Whereas, Section 6iA of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, provides that the giving and recording of votes by voting machines in such manner as may be prescribed, may be adopted in such constituency or constituencies as the Election Commission of lndia may, having regard to the circumstances of each case, specify;
2. Whereas, as per the proviso'to Rule 49A of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 195i, a printer with a drop box of such design. as may be approved by the Election Commission of lndia, may also be attached io voting machine lar printing a paper trail of the vote, in such constituency or constituencies or parts thereof as the Election Commission of India may direct;

Whereas. the Eiection Commission has considered the circumstanees in bye-etreefions iu 2l-Mainpuri Partriamtntary Constituency of Uttar Pr*desh, 0l-Padampur Assemrbtry Constituency of Odisha, 21-Sardarshahar ,A,ssembly Constituency of Rajasthan, 93-Kurhani Assembly Constituency of Bihar, 80-Bh*nupr*tappur(ST) Assernbly Constituency of Chhattisgarh & 37-*.ampur and l5-Khatauli Assembly Constituencies of Llttar Pradesh anrouneed vide th+ Election Commission's Press Notes No. ECIIPN|S3|?*ZZ dated *5-ll-2*22, No. ECtriYNl87l2$22 dated Q8-11-2*27 and Comrnissionns Press Note No" ECI/PN/8812022 dated l&-11-2022 revising the sehedule for Bye-*lectior in 37-Rampur AC of Uttar Pradesh, and is satisfied that sufficient nurnber of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Printers for printing Paper Trail [Voter Yerifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVFAT)] are available for taking the poll in the above mentioned Parliarnentary Constituency and Assembly Constituejncies, the poiling personnel are well trained in efficient handling of bVMs and 'VVPAT Printers' and the electors are also fully conversant with the operation of the EVMs anci the VVPA'I'Printers;

No',v, therefore, the Election Commission of India, in exercise of its powers under the said Seciion 61A of tl:e Representation of the People Act, i951, and Rule 49A of the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961. hereb.v sp*cifles Zl-Mai$puri Partiam€ntary Constituency of Uttar Pradesh, $l-Padampur Assembly Constituedcy of Odish*, 2l-sardarshahar Ass?mbly Corstituency of . Rajasthan, 93-Kurhani Assembly Constituency of Bihar, B(ft€rrqttdqr, frqis zz iGrER2022 1346 (3) 80-Bhanupratappur(ST) Assembly Constituency of Chhattisgarh & 3?-Rampur and l$-Khatauli Assembly Constituencies af Uttar Pradesh, ndtified on 10th and I lth November, 2022 as the constifuencies in lvhich the votes, shall be given and recorded by means of EVMs and VVPAT printers in the manner prescribed, under the Conduct of Elections Rules, l96lr9nd the supplementary instructions issued by the Election Commission from time to time on the subject.
5. The Election Commission also hereby approves the design of EVMs and VVPAT Printers as developed by the Bharat Electronics Ltd., Bangalore and Eiectronics Corporation of India Ltd., Hyderabad, which shall be attached to the said machines, to be used for the giving and recording of votes in all the constituencies'
