ORDINANCE No. XXVI OF 1947
AN
ORDINANCE
to amend the Deilu Refugees Registration Ordinance , 1947 .
WHEREAS an emergency has arisen which makes it necessary to amend the Delhi Rotugees Registration Ordmance , 1947 ( XXIV of 1947 ) for the purpose hereinafter appearing ;
NOW , THEREFORE , in exercise of the powers conferrod by section 42 of the Gov- crnment of India Act , 1935 (26 Geo . 5 , c . 2) , as adapted by the India (Provisional Constitution) Order , 1947 , the Governor General is pleased to make and promul- gate the following Ordinance:--
1. Short title and commencement . ( 1) This Ordinance may be called the Delhi Retugees Registration ( Amendment ) Ordinance , 1947.
(2) It shall come into force at once .
2. Amendment of section 4 , Ordinance XXIV of 1947 .-( 1) In sub - section (1) of section 4 of the Delhi Rotugees Registration Ordinance , 1947 , for the words " fifteen days " , the words " thirty days " shall be substituted .
(2 ) To the said sub - section the following further proviso shall be added , namely:-
"Provided also that the Central Government may by notification in the official Gazette extend the time limit of thirty days specified in this sub- section by as many days as it thinks fit . "
