RESOLUTION
TARIFFS
New Delhi , the 10th July 1948
No. 218 - T B ( 1) 48. With reference to the Ministry of Commerce Fesolu- tion No. 218 - T / B ( 1 ) / 48 dated the 10th May , 1948 , the Government of India have , alter further consideration in consultation with the Tariff Board , decided to accept the Tariff Board's recommendation that the present revenus duty of 10 per cent ad valorem on steel belt lacings shouldbe converted into a pro- tective duty at the same rate and that the protective duty should remain in force up to the 31st March , 1950. As a consequence , it has also been decided that steel helt facings should be shown separately in the Sca- borne Trade Ac- counts and m the Indian Customs Tariff .
ORDER
ORDERED that a copy of this Resolution be communicated to all Pro- vincial Clovernments , all (Chief Commissioners , the several Ministries of the Government of India , Prime Minister's Secretariat , Cabinet Secretariat , the Private and Military Secretaries to His Excellency the Governor General , the Central Board of Revenue , the Auditor General , the Director General of Em- ployment and Resettlement , Director General , Industry and Supply , the High Commissioner for India , London , the Economic Adviser to Cloverment of India , the Director General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics , Calcutta , the Indian Trade Commissioner in London , the Indian Trade Commissioner at New York, Buenos Aires , Toronto , Alexandria , Colombo , Paris , Mornbasa , Tehran and Sydney , His Majesty's Senior Trade Commissioner in India , the United States Embassy , New Delhi , the (Canadian Trade Commissioner in India , the Australian Trade Commissioner in India , the Norwegian Consul General , Bombay, the High Commissioner for India in Pakistan , Karachi , the High Com- missioner for Pakistan in India . New Delhi , the Secretary , Indian Tariff Board , Bombay , and all recognised (' hambers of Commerce and Associations .
ORDERED that a copy be communicated to the Government of Burma .
ORDERED also that it be published in the Gazette of India .
