No. 1672. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 2 ) of Section 241 of the Government of India Act , 1935 as adapted by the India ( Provisional Constitution) Order , 1947 , the Governor General is pleasedto direct that the following amendments shall be made in the Schedule to the Civilians in Defence Services ( Rovision of Pay) Rules , 1917 , published with the Ministry of Defence Notification No. 2072 , dated the 31st December 1947 , namely :-
In the Schedule annexed to the said rules under the head " Directorate of Ordnance Factories " :
( i) Against the entry " Asstt . Civil Engineer Adviser add the following in the column for prescribed scales :-
" and replaced by a Technical Staff Officer who will be classified and paid as an Assistant Works Manager " ,
( ii ) Insert the following new entry after " Asstt . Civil Engineer Adviser " : Technical Staff Officer 490 50-800 plus O. P. 254ors . 00 will be classified Кв . 500-25-626 and paid as Asstt . Works Manager .
( iii) Against the entry " principal Foreman " add the following in the column for prescribed scales :-
"but the existing permanent incumbents may continue in their scales until they waste out . "
(iv) Against the entry ' Supervisor C grade ' add under existing scale Rs . 503-70-5-100 and add the following in the column for prescribed scales:-
"Present incumbents may remain in the grade so long as their services are continued , the posts being counted against the total number of A and B Grade Posts approved ."
(v) Against the entries " Clerks " and " Section Clerks " add the following in the column for prescribed scale:-
"Present permanent incumbents may continue in the existing scales till they waste out " .
(vi ) Against the entry " Writers " substitute the following for the remarks " to to abolished" in the column for the prescribed scales:-
"Re-designated as Checkers Grade II in the Scale of 40-1-50-2-60".

(vii) Against the ontries " Draughtsman Junior , Estimator Junior , Planner Junior , and Rate Fixer Junior " add the following in the column for prescribed scales:-
"Present incumbents may remain in their grade so long as their services are continued , the posts being counted against the total number of higher Grade posts of these types approved " .
(viii ) Against the entry " Poddar " for the prescribed scales in column B substitute :-
"Rs . 35-1-50 " .
