NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi , the 7th October 1948
No. 8/8/ 48 - Judicial - I . In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of Delhi Laws Act , 1912 ( XIII of 1912 ) , the Central Government is pleased to end the East Punjab Evacuees' (Administration of Property) ( Second Amend- nt) Ordinance , 1948 ( East Punjab Ordinance No. XVI of 1948) ( hereinafter led the Amending Ordinance ) , to the Province of Delhi subject to the 'owing modifications , namely:-
I. Sub - section (2) of section 1 of the Amending Ordinance shall be omitted ;
II. In section 2 of the Amending Ordinance , clause (f ) and the words ' or a nabilitation Authority' occurring in clauses ( g) and ( h) of section 2 of the id Act shall be omitted ;
III . In section 5 of the Amending Ordinance ,
( i) for the words ' sixty days' and ' the additional Custodian of Evacuee I'roperty' occurring in clause ( a) of sub- section ( i ) of section 5B of the said Act the words ' thirty days ' and ' a Deputy Custodian authorised by the Custodian in writing in this behalf ( hereinafter called the authorized Deputy Custodian) ' shall respectively be substituted;
( ii) for the words ' Additional Custodian ' wherever occurring in clauses (b) and (c) of sub - section ( 1) of section 5B of the said Act the words 'Authorized Deputy Custodian ' shall be substituted;
:IV . In section 7 of the Amending Ordinance ,-
(i) in sub - section ( 4A) of soction 7 of the said Act for the words 'Addi- tional Custodian ' wherever occurring the words ' Authorized Deputy Custodian' shall be substituted ;
( ii) in sub - section ( 7) of the said Act between the words ' Custodian ' and ' shall be final' the words ' or the Authorized Deputy Custodian ' shall be inserted .
V. In section 8 of the Amending Ordinance, for the words and figures 18th September 1947 ' occurring in sub - section (2 ) of section 8 of the said Act the words and figures ' 31st December 1947 ' shall be substituted .
VI. In section 8 , 10 and 12 of the Amending Ordinance , for the words ' of the coming into force of East Punjab Evacuee (Administration of Property ) ( Second Amendment) Ordinance , 1948 ' , wherever occurring in sub -section (2 ) of section 8, sub - sections ( 1) and (2) of section 9A , and in sub -section (3) of section 12 of the said Act the words and figures ' of the extention of the East Punjab

Evacuges (Administration of Property) ( Second Amendment ) Ordinance , 1948 , to the Province of Delhi ' shall be substituted;
VII . In section 9 of the Amending Ordinance for the words ' a Rehabilitation Authority or such officers and persons ' occurring in clause (XII) of sub - section (2) of section 9 of the said Act the words ' such officer or person' shall be sub- stituted ;
VIII . In section 10 of the Amending Ordinance ,---
(i) for the words ' by a Rehabilitation Authority' occurring in sub - section (1) of section 9A of the said Act the words 'by the Custodian ' shall be substituted ;
(ii ) the words ' or a Rehabilitation Authority ' or ' Rehabilitation Autho- rity ' wherever occurring in sub-sections (2) , (3) and (4) of section A of the said Act shall be omitted ;
IX. In section 12 of the Amending Ordinance , the words ' or a Rehabilita- tion Authority' wherover occurring in sub - section ( 2 ) of section 17 of the said Act shall be omitted ;
X. In section 18 of the Amending Ordinance , for the words ' with the sanc- tion of the Provincial Government or the Custodian or a District Magistrate or a Deputy Commissioner Rehabilitation or any other officer authorised by the Provincial Government occurring in sub - section ( 1) of section 18 of the said Act the words ' with the sanction of the Central Government or an officer authorized by the Central Government' shall be substituted .
XI. Section 14 and 15 of the Amending Ordinance shall be omitted .

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Ajmer Merwara ( Extension of Laws) Act , 1947 (LII of 1947) , the Central Government is pleased to extend the East Punjab Evacuees ' ( Administration of Property ) ( Second Amendment) Ordinance , 1948 (East Punjab Ordinance No. XVI of 1948 ) ( hereinafter called the Amending Ordinance) , to the province of Ajmer - Merwara subject to the following modifications , namely:-
I. Sub - section ( 2 ) of section 1 of the amending Ordinance shall be omitted;
II . In section 2 of the amending Ordinance , clause (f) and the words " or a Rehabilitation Authority " occurring in clausos ( g ) and ( h ) of section 2 of the said Act shall be omitted .
III. In section 5 of the amending Ordinance ,
(i) for the words ' sixty days ' and " the additional Custodian of Evacuee Property" occurring in clause ( a ) of sub - section ( 1) of section 5B of the said Act the words ' thirty days ' and " a Deputy Custodian authorized by the Custodian in writing in this behalf (hereinafter called the Authorized Deputy Custodian ) " shall respectively be substituted ;
(li ) for the words 'Additional Custodian' wherever occurring in clauses (b) and ( c) of sub- section ( 1 ) of section 5B of the said Act the words 'Authorized Deputy Custodian ' shall be substituted ;
IV. In section 7 of the Amending Ordinance ,--
(i) in sub - section ( 4A ) of section 7 of the said Act for the words 'Addi- tional Custodian ' wherever occurring the words ' Authorized Deputy Custodian' shall be substituted;
(ii) in sub -section (7) of the said Act between the words ' Custodian' and ' shall be final ' the words ' or the Authorized Deputy Custodian' shall be inserted .

V. In section 8 of the Amending Ordinance , for the words and figures ' 18th September 1947' occurring in sub- section (2) of section 8 of the said Act the words and figures ' 21st September 1947' shall be substituted ;
VI . In sections 8 , 10 and 12 of the Amending Ordinance , for the words " of the coming into force of East Punjab Evacuee (Administration of Property) (Second Amendment ) Ordinance , 1948 " wherever occurring in sub -section ( 2) of section 8 , sub - sections ( 1) and ( 2 ) of section 9A, and in sub - section (8) of section 12 of the said Act , the words and figures " of the extension of the East Punjab Evacuees ' (Administration of Property) ( Second Amendment) Ordi- nance , 1948 , to the Province of Ajmer - Merwara " shall be substituted ;
VII . In section 9 of the Amending Ordinance for the words " a Rehabilitation Authority or such officers and persons " occurring in clause (XII ) of sub - section (2) of section 9 of the said Act the words " such officer or person " shall be substituted;
VIII . In section 10 of the Amending Ordinance ,-
(i) for the words " by a Rehabilitation Authority " occurring in sub- section (1) of section 9A of the said Act the words " by the Custodian" shall be substituted ;
(ii ) the words ' or a Rehabilitation Authority' or ' Rehabilitation Author- ity' wherever occurring in sub - sections ( 2 ) , (8 ) and ( 4) of section 9A of the said Act shall be omitted;
IX. In section 12 of the Amending Ordinance , the words ' or a Rehabilita- tion Authority' wherever occurring in sub - section ( 2) of section 17 of the said Act shall be omitted ;
X. In section 18 of the Amending Ordinance for the words " with the sano- tion of the Provincial Government or the Custodian or a District Magistrate or a Deputy Commissioner , Rehabilitation or any other officer authorised by the Provincial Government " occurring in sub - section ( 1) of section 18 of the said Act the words " with the sanction of the Central Government or an Officer authorised by the Central Government " shall be substituted .
XI . Sections 14 and 15 of the Amending Ordinance shall be omitted .
