New Delhi , the 5th October , 1948.
No. II(55) /48-Genl.-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Influx from West Pakistan ( Control ) Ordinance 1948 ( XVII of 1948 ) , the Central Government is pleased to make the following amendments in the Permit System Rules , 1948 , published under Ministry without Portfolio Notification N. II ( 55 ) /48 - Genl . , dated the 7th September , 1948 , read with Ministry of Relief and Rehabilitation Notification of even No. dated the 4th October , 1948. namely:
Rule 8. In line 1 read " FOUR " for " THREE "
Delete the word " AND " appearing at the end of sub - rule 3 ( ii) .
'Add the word " AND " after the words "Permanent Permits " in sub- rule 3 ( iii ) substituting " full stop " for " comma" .
Add the following as sub - rule 3 ( iv)-
" ( iv) Permits to return to India . "
Rule 8. In line 2 , after " Appendix I " add " OR III " .
Rule . After the words " Appendix II " add " Or IV " .
