New Delhi , the 16th October 1948
No. 8/ 13/48- Judicial-In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Delhi Laws Act , 1912 ( XIII of 1912 ) , the Central Government is pleased to extend the Punjab Municipal ( East Punja ,Amendment ) Act , 1918 ( East Punjab Act No. XVII of 1948 ) , to the Province of Delhi subject to the modification that for the words " Commissioner " and " Provincial Government " wherever they occur, the words " Chief Commissioner " shall be substituted.
