New Delhi , the 4th December 1948 .
No. 218-T(77 ) / 46 . In exercise of the powers conferred by sub -section (2) of section 1 of the Indian Tariff ( Second Amendment ) Act , 1947 (V of 1948) , the Central Government is pleased to appoint the 4th day of December 1948 , as the date from which clauses ( h ) and ( i) of sub- section ( 1 ) of section 2 of the said Act shall take effect .

No. 218 -T (77 ) /46.-In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1) of section 4 of the Indian Tariff Act , 1994 ( XXXII of 1984 ) , the Central Gov- ernment is pleased to increase the duty shown in the fourth column against Item No. 71 ( 8 ) of the First Schedule to the said Act from 50 per cent . ad valorem to 80 per cent . ad valorem , with offect from the 4th day of December , 1948 .

No. 20 - ITC/ 48.-In pursuance of the Notification of the Government of India in the late Department of Commerce , No. 28-1TC / 43 , dated the 1st July 1943 , as continued in force by the Imports and Exports ( Control ) Act , 1947 (XVIII of 1947 ) , the Contral Government is pleased to direct that the following amendments shall be made in the Open General Licence No. XI , published with the Notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce , No. 0-1TC /48 , dated the 3rd July 1948 , as subsequently amended-
In the Schedule annexed to the said Open General Licence No. XI , the following descriptions of goods covered by the entries in the Schedule to the aforesaid Notification No. 23-1TC / 43 , dated the 1st July 1948 shall be inserted
