AN
ORDINANCE
to amend the Gandhi National Memorial Fund Donations ( Companies ) Aot , 1948
WHEREAS an emergency has arisen which makes it necessary to amend the Gandhi National Memorial Fund Donations ( Companies ) Act , 1948 (XXXV of 1948) for the purpose hereinafter appearing ;
NOW , THEREFORE , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 42 of the Government of India Act , 1935 (26 Geo . 5 , c . 2 ) , the Governor - General is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-
1. Short title and commencement . ( 1 ) This Ordinance may be called the Gandhi National Memorial Fund Donations ( Companies ) Amendment Ordinance , 1948 .
(2) It shall come into force at once .
2. Amendment of section 2 , Act XXXV of 1948. In section 2 of the Gandhi National Memorial Fund Donations (Companics ) Act , 1948 ,-
( 1) after the words " do not enable it so to do " the words , brackets and figures " and the Imperial Bank of India may , notwithstanding anything contained in the Imperial Bank of India Act , 1920 ( XLVII of 1920) " shall be inserted ; and
( ii) for the words " Company's assets " the words " assets of the Com- pany or of the Bank , as the case may be shall be substituted .
