In exercise of the powers conferred by the first proviso to sub section (8) of section 1 of the Delhi and Ajmer - Merwara Rent Control Act , 1947 ( XIX of 1947 ) , the Central Government is pleased to direct that the said Act shall remain in force for a further period of two years commencing from the 24th day of March , 1949 .
