The following Act of the Dominion Legislature received the assent of the Governor-General on the 25th March , 1949 , and is hereby published for general information : -

An Act further to amend the Railways ( Transport of Goods ) Act , 1947 .
WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Railways (Transport of Goods) Act , 1947 (XII of 1947) , for the purpose hereinafter appearing ;
It is hereby enacted as follows :-
1. Short title . This Act may be called the Railways ( Transport of Goods ) Amendment Act , 1949 .
2. Amendment of section 1 , Act XII of 1947. In sub - section ( 8 ) of section 1 of the Railways ( Transport of Goods ) Act , 1947 , for the words and figures "26th day of March , 1949 " the words and figures " 31st day of March , 1950 " shall be substituted .
