PUBLIC NOTICE
New Delhi , the 27th May 1949
SUBJECT .-- Punciples governing the issue of import, licences for January - June 1949 period- Last date for receipt of applications for licences for imports from all sources .
No. 1 (4 ) -ITO /49 . According to the Ministry of Commerce Public Notice . No. 1 (4) -ITC /49 dated the 22nd February 1949 , as amended , no time - limit has been fixed for receiving applications for January - June 1949 period from im- porters:-
(i) who are actual consumers of industrial raw materials and accessories ;
(i) who have imported the commodities concernod during any financial year between 1987-88 and 1947-48 ( inclusive ) ; and
(iii) who are desirous of importing liberally licensable articles .
2. Having regard to the present overall foreign exchange position in respect uf dollar, hard and soft currencies and to administrative considerations , which necessitate that applications for a half - yearly period should , as far as possible , be disposed of within that period , it has been decided that applications for licences for items in Part II to V of the Import Trade Control Schedule , except where lust dates have already been fixed n specific cases , should be submitted so as to reach the respective licensing authorities on or before the 10th June 1949. Any applications roceived after that date will be rejected .
