8/2 / 49 - JudL-In exorcise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Dethi Laws het , 1912. (XIII of 1912) , and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs , No. 8/ 2/ 49 - Judl . , . dated the 2nd March 1949 , the Central Government is pleased to extend the East Purjab Opium. Smoking Act, 1948 (East Punjab Act No. XXV of 1948) , to the Province of Delhi , subject to the following modification , namely , -
Referencesto the Province of East Punjab shall be construed as references to the Province of Delhi , and references to the Provincial Government shall be construed as references to the Chief Commissioner .
