NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 5th Sex ember 1949
No. 3 / 13 / 49 - Judicial .- In cxercise of the powers conterred by section 7 of the Delhi Laws Act , 1912 ( XIII of 1912 ) , the Central Government 14 pleasol to extend to the Province of Delhi , the United Provinces Power Alcohol Act ( United Provinces Act VIII of 1940 ) subject to the tollowing modtheations , namely: --
1 Reterences to the United Provinces shall , except in clause ( a ) of Soc- tion 2 , bo construed as references to the Provme of Delhi and references to the Provincial Government shall be construed as referencos to the Chief Comissioner
2 In Section 1
( a) for sub section ( 2 ) the following shall be substituted , namely- " ( 2 ) It, extends to the whole of Delhi Province. "
(b ) Sub - section (3) shall be omitted
3 In sub section ( 2) of section 4 the words ' or at any place in the United Provinces where this section is not u force " shall be omitted .
4 In sections and 24 for the words and figures " the United l'rovinces Exciso Act , 1910 , the words and figures " the Punjab Excise Act , 1914 as applied to the Province of Delhi " , shall be substi tuted
section 8 for the words ' United Provmces Government " the words " Chief Commissioner " shall be substituted ,
6 For section 12 , the to'lowing section shall be substituted, namely '12 The Chief Commissioner , Delhi , shall be the Chief Control- , Iing Authority under thus Act' .
7 For sechon 20 , the following section shall be substituted namely- 20 The provisions of the Punjab Excise Act , 1914 , as applied to the Provinces of Delhi , shall apply to the offences punishable under this Act and to an articles seized under this Act
8 In Section 22 for the words and sigures ' section 30 of the United Provinces I'xcise Act , 1910 , the words and figures " the Punjab Ехсьо Act, 1914 , as applied to the Province of Delhi " shall be subad
