In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Export Duties ( Emergency Provisions ) Ordinance , 1949 ( Ordinance XXV of 1940) , the Central Governinont is pleasedto direct that with effect from the 29th Sep- tember 1949 , the duties of customs leviable in respect of the articles specified in item 2 (2 ) of the Second Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act , 1934 ( XXXII of 1084), when exported ficin the Provinces of India , shall be increased to tho extent specified in column 8 below , namely
