NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 11th November, 1949

No. CA/43(4)/Ser//49.—Whereas in view of the changes that have taken place in the constitutional and administrative position of the United State of Vindhya Pradesh, difficulties have arisen in the carrying out of the Constituent Assembly Rules in respect of the seats allotted to the said State in the Assembly;

Now, THEREFORE, in exercise of the power conferred by rule (50 of the said Rules and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the President of the Constituent Assembly hereby makes the following provisions for the pur- pose of removing the said difficulties, namely:—

PROVISIONS

1. In rules 5A of the said Rules, the words and figures "in the case of the States specified in Part l of the said Annexure, and by election in the case of the States specified in Part II of that Annexure shall bo omitted.

2. After paragraph 4B of the Schedule to the said Rules, the following paragraph shall he inserted —

"4-C. Notwithstanding anything contained in paragraph 4, all the seals in the Assembly allot led to the United Stale of Vindhya Pradesh specified in column 1 of Part 11 of the Annexure to this Schedule may be filled by nomination, and the representatives of the State to be chosen to fill such seals may be nominated by the authority specified in the corresponding entry in column 3 of that Part."No. CA/43/Ser/49.—-Whereas in view of the changes that have taken place in the constitutional and administrative position of the United State of Rajasthan, difficulties have arisen in the carrying out of the Constituent Assembly Rules in respect of the seats allotted to the said State in the Assembly; Now, THEREFORE, in exercise of the power conferred by rule 66 of the said Rules and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the President [ 2273 ]

PROVISION

(i) in Part I -

(n) all tho entries in columns 1, 2 and 3 relating to Jodhpur, Jaipur and Jiifcancr shall be omitted; and

(h) Eoi tho totiil figure '40' in column 2 the figure '35' shall be substi- tuted;

(ii) Tn Part II—

(a) all the entries in columns 1, 2 arid 3 relating to the United State of JMiitsvti shnll be omitted;

(b) in column 2, against the entry "Unitod State of Eftjasthan" in column I, Tor the figure '4' the figure '12' shall be substituted;

(a) under Ihn entiy "EERrOUABY STATES", 'Jaisalmer' shall be omitted;

(d) for tlin lotal figure '40' in column 2-, the figure '54' shall he substi- tuted .
