New Delhi, the 29th November, 1949

SUBJECT: Import of articles covered by trade agreement from Czechoslovakia.

NO. 2B(268)-ITC/49.—Importers are aware that a trade agreement exists between the Government of India and that of Czechoslovakia for the mutual supply of certain commodities upto the quantities agreed upon In this Ministry's Public Notice dated the 12th September, 1949 regarding Principles governing issue of import licences for the period July—December 1949, it has been indicated that licences will be issued to cover articles provided for in the trade agreement, but in the detailed Schedule Appendix I the licensing position in respect of certain commodities covered by the above trade agreement has not been correctly stated; that is, against certain articles covered by the agree- ment it has been stated that the licences will be granted for "Open General Licence XV Concession Licences only" and against certain others "No licences" will be granted a list of some of the important articles which are in the tirade agreement with Czechoslovakia but which are not specially men- tioned in the Public Notice dated the 12th September 1949, is reproduced below:—

The full list of articles to be imported frorn Czechoslovakia under the Trade

Agreement is published as Appendix 'A' to this Notice.

2. It is tho intention of Governmout that full opportunity should be given for the import of all items covered by Trade Agreements upto the quantities- speci- fied therein. For this purpose nil imports made from the beginning of the agreement perioil whether undor Open General Licence or licences previously issued or issued after the date of Agreement have to be taken into account. Licences issued under Open General Licence XI or XV Concession Scheme will also be taken into account

No. LR.1(97).—The following draft of an amendment to the Industrial Dis- putes (Central) Rules, 1947, whioh the Central Government propose to make in exercise of the powerB conferred by section 38 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (Xjy^of 1947), is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of the said section for the information of all persons likely to be affeoted thereby and notice is hereby given that the draft will be taken into consideration on or after the 5th December 1949.

Any objection or suggestion which may be received from any person in res- pect of the said draft will be considered by the Central Government.
