CUSTOMS
New Delhi , the 13th August , 1962
G.S.R. 1090.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Sea Customs Act , 1878 ( 8 of 1878 ) , asin force in India and as applied to the State of Pondicherry , the Central Government hereby exempts dried pectin powder falling under item No. 28 of the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act , 1934 ( 32 of 1934 ) , when imported into India or the State of Pondicherry , from so much of the customa duty leviable thereon as is in excess of-
(1 ) 30 per cent ad valorem , where the standard rate of duty isleviable ; and (2) 20 per cent ad valorem , where the preferential rate of duty is leviable .
