NOTIFICATION.
New Delhi, the 10th November, 1862.
G.S.R. 1509.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Public Debt Act, 1944, (18 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the follow- ing amendments to the Public Debt Rules, 1946, the same having been previously published as required by sub-section (1) of the said section, namely: —
THE PUBLIC DEBT (THIRD AMENDMENT) RULES, 1962.
1. (1) These rules may be called the Public Debt (Third Amendment) Rules, 1962.
(2) They shall come into force on the 10th November, 1962.
2. In the Public Debt Rules, 1946 —
(i) in rule 7,
(a) in sub-rule (3-A), in the main paragraph after the words "the Pub- lic Debt (Amendment) Rules, 1946", the words "or in the form of a Defence Deposit Certificate" shall be inserted, and in clause (c) the words "or a Defence Deposit Certificate" shall be added at the end;
(b) in sub-rule (3-B), after the words "a Treasury Savings Deposit Certificate", the words "or a Defence Deposit Certificate shall be inserted;
(ii) in rule 7-A, in sub-rule (1) after the words, brackets and figures, "Treasury Savings Deposit Certificate [whether before of after the commencement of the Public Debt (Amendment) Rules, 1960]", the words "or in the form of a Defence Deposit Certificate" shall be inserted;
(iii) in rule 7-B,
(a) in sub-rule (1), after the words "a Treasury Savings Deposit Certi- ficate" the words "or a Defence Deposit Certificate" shall be in- serted;
(b) in sub-rule (2), after the words "Treasury Savings Deposit Certifi- cate", in the two places where they occur, the words "or Defence Deposit Certificate" shall be inserted;
658 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)] (v) in rule 8-B, fa) in sub-rule (1), after the words "Treasury Savings Deposit Certifi- cates", the words "or Defence Deposit Certificates" shall be insert- ed;(b) in sub-rule (2), after the words "Treasury Savings Deposit Certifi- cate", in the first place where they occur, the words "or a Defence Deposit Certificated and in the second place where they occur, the words "or a Defence Deposit Certificate, 83 the case may be,", shall be inserted;
(vi) in rule 9, in sub-rule (3-A), after the words "Treasury Savings Deposit Certificate" wherever they occur, the words "or Defence Deposii Certificate" shall be inserted;
(vii) in rule 17-A,
(a) in sub-rule (1), after the words "a Treasury Savings Deposit Certi- ficate", the words "or a Defence Deposit Certificate" shall be in- serted;
(b) in sub-rule (3), after the words "Treasury Savings Deposit Certifi- cate", the words "or a Defence Deposit Certificate, as the case may be,", shall be inserted;
(viii) In rule 21-A,
(a) in sub-rule (1), after the worda "a Treasury Savings Deposit Certi- ficate", the words, "or a Defence Deposit Certificate" shall be in- serted;
(b) in sub-rule (2), after the words "Treasury Savings Deposit Certifi- cate", the words "or a Defence Deposit Certificate, as the case may be", shall be inserted;
(ix) in rule 24, in clause (o) of sub-rule (1), after the words "a Treasury Savings Deposit Certificate", the words "or a Defence Deposit Certi- ficate^ shall be inserted;
(x) in rule 25, in sub-rule (1), after item (e), the following shall be insert- ed, namely: —
"(f) a Defence Deposit Certificate"
I. In the Schedule to the Public Debt Rules, 1946,
(i) in Form III-A,
(a) In para 1, after the words "Ten-Year Treasury Savings Deposit Certi-
ficate", the following shall be inserted, namely: —
"/Ten-Year Defence Deposit Certificate";
(b) in para 2, after the words "Treasury Savings Deposit Certificates" In the two places where they occur, the following shall be inserted, namely: — "/Defence Deposit Certificates";
(ii) in Form IV A, after the words "Treasury Savings Deposit Certificates" wherever they occur, the following shall be inserted, namely:— "/Defence Deposit Certificates";
(iii) in Forms VIA and VUA, in the title of the form, after the words "a Treasury Savings Deposit Certificate", the following shall be inserted, namely: — "/Defence Deposit Certificate";
Civ) in Form VfflA, in the title of the form after the words, "Treasury Savings Deposit Certificates", the following shall be Inserted, name- ly:— "/Defence Deposit Certificates".
