IMPORT TRADE CONTROL
New Delhi , the 11th January 1963
SUBJECT: -Use of paper other than Newsprint , by publishers of magazines and periodicals .
No. 4 - ITC ( PN ) /63.-Attention is invited to the Newsprint Control ( Third Amend- ment ) Order , 1962 , issued on 29th December 1962. Under this Order , consumers of newsprint, other than publishers of text books or books of general interest , were required to seek the permission of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports , if they desired to supplement their newsprint quota with any paper , other than newsprint .
2. On a review of the position , it has been decided that the publishers of periodicals and magazines who use olf - set , super - calendered and imitation art paper , etc. , may be allowed to continue the use of these types of papers as in the past . They need not , therefore , apply for the permission of the Chief Con- troller of Imports & Exports .
3. The decision embodied in para 2 above will be subject to a review later .
