NOTIFICATION
CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi , the 1st May 1963
G.S.R. 786. In excrcise of the powers conferred by sub - rule ( 1 ) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules , 1944 , the Central Government hereby makes the follow- ing further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance ( Department of Revenue ) No. 44/61 dated the 1st March , 1961 , namcly .
To the said notification , after the existing proviso , the folloving further pro- viso shall be inserted, namely : -
"Provided further that any manufacturer who applies on or after the 1st May , 1965 for a licence to manufacture matches , the splints of which are not to be made of bamboo , and whose annual output of such matches would exceed fifty million but would not exceed five hundred million , shall pay duty at rates specifi- ed against item ( B ) of the said Table "
