THE GOVERNMENT OF UNION TERRITORIES ( REMOVAL OF DIFFICULTIES ) ORDER NO . 1
New Delhi , the 11th June 1963
S.O. 1603. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 56 of the Govern- ment of Union Territories Act , 1963 ( 20 of 1963 ) , the President hereby makes the following Order , namely :-
1. (1) This Order may be called the Government of Union Territories ( Removal of Difficulties ) Order , No. 1 .
(2) It shall come in to force at once .
2. Notwithstanding that section 54 of the Government of Union Territories Act , 1963 , has not come into force , every constituency referred to in clause ( b ) of sub- section ( 1 ) of section 54 of that Act shall , as from the commencement of this Order , be deemed to be an assembly constituency of the same name for the purpose of elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Union territory of Pondicherry , and the electoral roll of each such constituency shall be prepared accordingly under the Representation of the People Act , 1950 , as if the said section 54 had come into force .
