THE GOVERNMENT OF UNION TERRITORIES ( REMOVAL OF DIFFICUL-
TIES ) ORDER No. 3
S.O. 1806. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 56 of the Government of Union Territories Act , 1963 ( 20 of 1963 ) , the President hereby makes the follow- ing Order , namely : -
1. (1) This Order may be called the Government of Union Territories ( Removal of Difficulties ) Order No. 3 .
( 2) It shall come into force at once .
2. The elections to be held under section 53 of the Government of Union Terri- tories Act , 1963 , to fill the seats in the House of the People allotted to the Union territory of Goa , Daman and Diu , and to fill the seat in the House of the People and the seat in the Council of States allotted to the Union territory of Pondicherry, shall be held in accordance with the provisions of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , and the rules and orders made thereunder as if they were bye- elections to fill casual vacancies in the House of the People or the Council of States , as the case may be.
