IMPORT TRADE CONTROL
New Delhi , the 8th November , 1963
SUBJECT : Import of ( 1) ' Fruits all sorts , excluding coconuts and cashewnuts , fresh dried salted or preserved , n.o.s , and excluding dates [ S. No. 21 (a ) / IV ] , ( ii ) asafoetida ( S. No. 31 / V) , ( iii ) Cumin seeds and ( iv ) Medi- cinal herbs from Afghanistan .
No. 142 - ITO ( PN ) / 63 .- Attention of the importers of fruits etc. from Afghanistan is invited to the MinistryMinistry of International Trade Public Notice No. 140 - ITC ( PN ) / 63 , dated the 4th November , 1963 , according to which import of fresh fruits from Afghanistan was allowed within a fixed monetary ceiling of Rs . 70 lakhs for the Agreement period 1963-64,
2. As the ceiling of Rs . 70 lakhs has already been exhausted, no further appli- cations for import of fresh fruits from Afghanistan will be entertained by the licensing authorities . Importers are , therefore , advised not to enter into any further commitments with the traders in Afghanistan for import of fresh fruits from that country .
