New Delhi, the 13th November 1963
G.S.R. 1774.—In exorcise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts beta napthol, when imported into India, from so much of the duty of customs as is leviable thereon under section 2A of the Indian Tariff Act, 1934 (32 of 1934).
2. This notification shall be in force until the 31st day of December, 1964.

G.S.R. 1775.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods mentioned in the Schedule below used for the manufacture of dyes and falling under Item No. 28 of the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act, 1934 (32 of 1934), when imported into India, from—
(1) so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the second mentioned Act as is in excess of 10 per cent ad valorem, where the standard rate of duty is leviable; and
(ii) the whole of the duty leviable thereon under the second mentioned Act, where the preferential rate of duty is leviable.

792 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART-II-SEO.8(iv]O.S.R. 1716.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 read with sub-section (3) of section 160 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that notifications specified in column (2) of the Table below shall be amended in the manner specified in the corresponding entry or entries in column (3) of the said Table.
