NOTIFICATION
CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi , the 26th February 1964
G.S.R. 292. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act , 1944 ( 1 of 1944 ) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules fufurther to amend the CentralCentral Excise Rules, 1944,1944, namely:-
101 These rules may be called the Central Excise ( Second Amendment ) Rules , 1964.
2. In rule 224 of the Central Excise Rules , 1944, to sub - rule ( 2 ) , the following proviso shall be added , namely: ----
"Provided that the Central Government may , on application made to it in this behalf by a licensee , by order allow , if it considers it necessary or expedient in the public interest so to do, the removal of goods from a factory or a warehouse after 5-00 P.M. on the date appointed as aforesaid if the licensee gives an undertaking in writing to pay duty at the enhanced rate, if any, whichwh may be applicable toto sucsuch goods with effect from the day following the said date to comply with such other conditions as the Central Government may specity in the order." .
