New Delhi, the 2nd May, 1964

S.O. 1516.—In pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 10 of the Delimitation Commission Act, 1962 (61 of 1962) as applied by section 43 of the Government of Union Territories Act, 1963 (20 of 1963), the Order made by the Delimitation Commission in respect of assembly constituencies in the Union territory of Pondicherry is hereby published:—

ORDER NO. 21

WHEREAS the proposals of the Delimitation Commission for the delimitation of assembly constituencies in the Union territory of Pondicherry were published on the 11th March, 1964, in the Gazette of India and in the official Gazette of the Territory;

AND WHEREAS all the objections and suggestions received were considered at public sittings held at Karaikal and Pondicherry on the T8th and 20th April, 1964, respectively; WE HEREBY determine as follows :—

(1) The territorial constituencies into which the Union terri- tory of Pondicherry shall be divided for the purpose of elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Union territory and the extent of each such constituency shall be as shown in the Table below;

(2) Where the name of a constituency as shown in the Table is distinguished by the brackets and letters "(SO)", the seat in that constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Cashes.
