IMPORT TRADE CONTROL
New Delhi, the 13th May, 1964
SUBJECT.—Import of Ball, Roller and Taper Roller Bearings (S. No. 19/II) during April 1964-March 1965.
No. S9-ITC(PN)/64.—Attention of the importers is invited to Appendix 14 to the current Red Book, which contains a list of banned/restricted types of ball bearings.
2. In view of regular production of certain sizes of cylindrical and tapered roller bearings in the country, it has been decided to impose restrictions on the import of these sizes. The following amendments may accordingly be deemed to have been made in the current Red Book: —
(i) In Section III, after Appendix 14(4), Appendix 14(5) and 14(6) as given in Annexure to this Public Notice may be added.
(ii) In Appendix 4, the existing "N.B." indicating broad principles which may be followed in considering A.U. applications for Ball & Roller Bearings on page 246 of the current Red Book may be substituted by the following: —
"N.B." Broad principles which may be followed in considering A,U. applications for Ball, Roller and Taper Roller bearings will be as under : —
(i) Ball Bearings of sizes specified in Appendix 14(I) (a) of this book will not be allowed.
(ii) Ball Bearings of sizes specified in Appendix 14(I) (b), 14(I)(c), 14(2), 14(3) and 14(4) of this book are produced indigenously and their import will be allowed only upto a part of the certified requirements.
