IMPORT TRADE CONTROL

SUBJECT : -Import ( i ) ' Fruits' all sorts , excluding Coconuts and Cashewnuts , fresh , dried, salted or preserved , n.o.s. and excluding Dates [ S. No. 21 ( a ) / IV ] , ( ii ) Asafoetida ( S. No. 31 / IV ) , ( iii ) Cumin Seeds and ( iv ) Medicinal Herbs from Afghanistan .
No. 80 - ITC ( PN ) /64.-Attention is invited to para 2 of the late Ministry of Inter- national Trade Public Notice No. 11 - ITC ( PN) / 64 , dated the 20th February , 1964 , wherein it is provided that the licensing authority will duly notify the trade when the balance ' ceiling' for imports into IndiaIndia from Afghanistan for the current Arrangement period is 15 per cent of the total ceiling.
2. It is hereby notified for information of the trade that the balance ' ceiling ' left for licensing of fruits etc. from Afghanistan ( other than Hides and Skins ) , during the current Trade Arrangement period is now 15 % only . Trade is , there- fore, cautioned not to enter into advance commitments for further imports , which may result in the total ceiling for the current Indo- Afghanistan Trade Arrange- ment period being exceeded .
