NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi , the 17th October 1964
S.O. 3663. Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the House of the People by reason of the death of Shri Jawaharlal Nehru , elected to that House from the Phulpur Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Uttar Pradesh;
Now , therefore , in pursuanpursuance of the provisions of sub - section ( 1 ) of section 149 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 , the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect before the 28th November , 1964 , in accord- ance with the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made there- under , a person to fill the vacancy so caused .

S.O. 3664. In pursuance of the provisions of section 30 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby appoints , with respect to the bye -election to be held in the Phulpur Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Uttar Pradesh in pursuance of its Notification No. 100 /UP - HP/ 5 / 64 ( 1 ) , dated the 17th October , 1964.-
( a) the 24th October, 1964 , as the last date for making nominations;
(b ) the 26th October , 1964 , as the date for the scrutiny of nominations ;
(c) the 29th October , 1964 , as the last date for the withdrawal of candi- datures;
(d) the 22nd November , 1964, as the date on which a poll shall , if neces- sary , be taken ; and
completed. (e) the 28th November , 1964 , as the date before which the election shall be

8.0.3665 .- In pursuance of section 56 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. as the hours duringring which a poll shall , if necessary ,necessnecessary , be takentaken for the election to the House of the People from the Phulpur constituency,cy, to bebe held in pursuance of its Notification No. 100 /UP - HP / 5 / 64 ( 1 ) , dated the 17th October , 1964.
