S.O. 3843. In the Registration of Electors ( Amendment ) Rules , 1964 published with the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Law No SO 661 dated the 12th October 1964 at pages 98-102 of te Gazette of India Ex traordinary ) , Part II , Section 3 , Sub section ( 1 ) , dated the 16th October , 1964 at page 990 for clause ( b ) of the proviso [ inserted by rule 4 ( b ) ] , read " (b ) Where such application is received direct by the electoral registra- tion officer , he shall refer such application to the chief executive officer of the local authority concerned and on receipt of informa- tion in relation thereto from the chief executive officer , the elec- toral Registration Officer shall act in accordance with clause ( d ) of sub - section ( 2 ) of section 27 "
